In-8° (mm 212x135). Pagine [4], XIV, [2], 576. Copia lievemente brunita ma in barbe e quasi totalmente intonsa. Legatura coeva in pieno cartonato con titolo stampigliato a inchiostro nero su pecetta cartacea al dorso.



Prima edizione, assai rara, di questo trattato sulla teoria dei numeri complessi, nonché la più importante opera del matematico francese Augustin-Louis Cauchy (Paris 1789 - Sceaux 1957). DSB III, 137: «The first comprehensive theory of complex number is found in Cauchy's Cours d'analyse». Abel, Untersuchungen uber die Reihe, 311-359: «an excellent work which should be read by every analyst who loves mathematical rigor».
