The collection includes about 30 documents in total. The letters are sent to General Italo Gariboldi, already protagonist in the Great War, in the war of Ethiopia and in the Second World War during the war operations in North Africa and then in Russia, to General Giovanni Messe who commanded the expeditionary forces in Russia. Some letters are written by Messe himself, by Guido Rocco, by General Pietro Pintor etc. The collection also includes instructions from the assault platoons, proposals for promotions, summaries of the losses (during October 1918), a report 'on the merciless action [...] of Monte Asolone' (1918) signed by Giovanni Messe, and 1 letter in German, typewritten and signed by Hans Speidel, General, one of the survivors from the July 1944 Hitler attack. In the lot also some newspaper clippings. Interesting lot to study.
