Autographs & Photographs ~ lots 927-1020
The autograph section includes about 100 lots. A review of important Italian and foreign personalities, protagonists of history, literature, entertainment and art. There are great names of Italian literature as Gabriele D'Annunzio with letters, objects and signed photographs. Many letters, photographs, dedications and autograph compositions of the protagonists of the XIX and XX centuries: Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, Luigi Capuana, Luigi Pirandello, Aldo Palazzeschi, Marino Moretti, Giovanni Verga, Vincenzo Monti, Ada Negri, Vamba, Giosuè Carducci; XIX-XX century politicians: il conte di Cavour, Francesco Crispi, Marco Minghetti, Giacomo Matteotti, Benito Mussolini, Galeazzo Ciano Giovanni Gentile, Pietro Nenni, Umberto I, Giovanni Gronchi, Bettino Craxi, Aldo Moro, Giuseppe Saragat, Luigi Einaudi, Sandro Pertini, Giulio Andreotti and a lot with documents relating to the Italian Communist Party. A section is dedicated to Franco Zeffirelli with postcards, greeting cards designed by him and letters. There is also a curious document by Antonio Canova, a rental contract for land in Tor Vergata. Among foreign personalities we highlight Alexandre Dumas (father), Mark Twain, Victor Hugo, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Yitzhak Rabin, Teller Edward ('the father of the hydrogen bomb'), with the actors Jack Lemmon, Bob Mitchum, Anthony Queen. There are some lots of documents relating to Benelli, one of the oldest Italian motorcycle manufacturers, established in 1911 in Pesaro. The drawings, patents, technical files ecc. show the history of the various types of motorcycle from the late 1920s to the World War II.
Books, autographs & music sheets ~ lots 1021-1066
The music section includes about 50 lots. It ranges from the Madrigals of the XVI to signed photographs of Mina. The catalogue includes autograph musical compositions, letters, writings and photographs of Alfredo Casella, Luigi Dallapiccola, Bruno Bettinelli, Enrico Bossi, Angelo Mariani, Giuseppe Donizetti, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Antonio Bazzini, Felice Romani, John Cage etc. We also offer some photographs and a signed letter from Giuseppe Verdi.
Among the curiosities: the diploma dated 1758 for the admission to the Philarmonic Academy of Bologna of Father Giovanni Battista Martini (one of the teachers of the young Mozart), and a menù signed by Maria Callas and Pier Paolo Pasolini at the time of their 'Love story'.
